orange bag- beach scene,debbie miller

6x6" oil on panel
My studio computer is blocking access to my blog - no idea why -
I'm working on trying to figure it out, in the mean time, I'll post from my home laptop - with some of the daily paintings I've got stored there, like this one.

fyi - I'm gearing up for a plein air series/challenge, you know how I love a challenge - so stay tuned

Sunshine shoulders, beach plein air painting

6x6" oil on panel.  plein air.
Squint, squint, squint.  my mantra with these.  really helps get the values right.
go ahead - squint at this one - you'll see what I mean.

this painting will be with me, along with many more of my paintings in Wickford, RI this weekend for the
art festival
Instead of in a tent, I'll be showing my paintings on the porch at The Wickford Collection - super cool shop you won't want to miss.
come by and say Hi!

Beach Towel Study - daily painting, beach scene, Debbie Miller

8x8" oil This is a little study done for the larger version which is hanging (but available to purchase) at the Sunnyside Restaurant. I've had alot of interest in it lately so I thought I'ld post the study too. sold.

Trio - beach scene, friends

6x6 oil on panel - ignoring the N.E. winter weather forcast and painting the beach again. Looking at those 3 friends, one of my favorite books as a kid popped into my head
These 3 horses meet up with an artist guy and dress up like princesses and go into town. Its a little odd :) In the end a trio of princesses show up and adopt them. Those vintage Dandelion Press books were the best.

No Slouch - beach scene, daily painting

6x6" oil -
Another little beach scene inspired by the photos. The ladies who go swim the beach for their daily workout - well they are just awesome.
below: my big cat and little dog watching the snow - loving this color combo too - the cool grays and then the wow factor of the red. might have to try this in a painting or two

Winter Beach Stroll

8x6" oil on panel - found a dry spot in the sand and painted away. seriously nice way to start the New Year.
The beach was busy with lots of people, dogs and even some horses (at Horseneck Beach-how perfect. )
I really like this one, captures the feel of the day. below is my painting partner seeing horses for the first time...he was not a fan :)
