October is here finally

Everyone's favorite month is here!  Hooray.
October means it's time for another Warren Walkabout  - my studio will be open and I've decided to have a little sale.  My studio is not huge and I'ld really like to move some of my older paintings out to make room in the studio and in my head for more art!!

This year Walkabout is on October 23.

I did this little plein air painting a few years ago.  Still like it.
  Hoping to get out there and paint this October but painting outside with a puppy is EXTREME painting to say the least. 
So maybe not....

Winter Branches

 After one of our resent snow storms I was outside taking in all the winter magic, photographing the snow on the branches.  They reminded me of the above paintings from February 1997- the very first oil paintings I had done in a very very long time.
  Being a mom of 3 boys, there wasn't a lot of time for oil painting. It was a busy time.  Folding laundry in my basement and looking up through the window at the branches...I had been thinking about painting for a while.  The branches and the play of light got me and since my boys were at school,  I dug out my old oil paints from college,found some wood boards and did these 3 paintings.
 It has been no looking back and unfolded laundry ever since!

This is a little plein air I did a while back - haven't had a chance or made the time to get out there this year.  A shame really, it has been such a beautiful fall.

#2 - oh hello little little beach plein air. - so painting outside when it's 38 degrees IS possible but you better be quick!  my fingers were getting cold.  The simplicity of this one is what I like - plus I LOVE this color palette right now...this would be great BIG - like 30x30 or more- above a couch.  Don't you think?
(It is a little more subdued in person)

Well the official end of summer weekend is upon us.  A whole summer went by and for the first time in a looooong time I didnt put a toe in Cape Cod sand.  RI sand - yes, NH lake sand -yes but no Cape Cod. 

Perhaps a fall trip for some plein air painting is needed :)

My studio computer is blocking access to my blog - no idea why -
I'm working on trying to figure it out, in the mean time, I'll post from my home laptop - with some of the daily paintings I've got stored there, like this one.
