The Miller house is a busy house.  Lots of young people in and out, my husband and I and our two dogs.
Everyone walks them.
I made this little sign last week to leave on the counter.  Sometimes we take one dog or both and it was getting a little nerve racking to come home and find one or both of them gone. 
Cute right?  Super easy to make too - I just cut a piece of scrap wood with my chop saw and used eye hooks and picture wire for the handle.  Painted it white, distressed the edges and free handed the letters  - no stencils or measuring for me but you could if that is how you roll.

"Do This"  - just like yours, my to-do list is L O N G. 
Under this sign is where the sticky notes pile up - the commission notes and shipping details.  This spot makes me happiest when its dripping in sticky notes. 

the panels : they are getting prepped for paintings. 

this wood : I pulled this old weathered gray wood out of the bon fire pile at our beach last summer - it's just too cool to burn, don't you think??  I'm going to paint some little beach landscapes on these - stay tuned!!

studio peek = last week I started a painting that is just for me.  It is unlike anything I usually do.

Some of what I've been doing lately... when I get an image that I like - in this case the 3 boys, often I will try it out many different ways. starting with literal then moving more away from that into something more raw.  Also, abstract-y, dreamy landscapes are starting to appear.  More grays and yellows too.

What has she been doing?  Well this is it - I'm working on 3 large beach scenes - 24x36.  This is one of them.  A work-in-progress but it's close!

my new thing to do is use paper plates as palettes!  so portable!!

paint spatter in the tea...I have to remember to keep my drinks BEHIND me!!

Easing back in with a little peek into my (currently very messy) studio.  Working on 3[  24x36 beach scenes.  One is for a commission, the others will be available soon - more soon.

Happy Cupcake and Studio Update

 6x6 oil on canvas, framed   $150. 
I have a few of these happy little cupcake paintings still.  They are framed (simply by me of course.)  I will be posting them here while I am busy in the studio working on lots and lots of big paintings and some more cupcakes for my galleries this spring/summer.  More info to come but in the mean time here is peek ...
