love flip flops. love to wear them, love to paint them. They can be so graphic, so getting lost in the shapes and the colors rather than the subject is easy and fun. easy and fun - just like flip flops...spot on.

Bite Size
6x6 oil on masoniteoops - forgot to post a cupcake on my sons B-Day earlier this month! I just got these 2 "Birthday Boys" back and they are available again too. (check my DP page for them) - cause everyone knows MY birthday boy would prefer black and white cupcakes if at all - maybe alittle bamboo green thrown in for color :)

Aspens- daily painting, Colorado
last one from Colorado - and my favorite- love the Aspens.
Also, want to thank all the people who have been stopping by and leaving comments. I love getting them, its busy around here in summer and with a teenager and 2 tweens I get very little computer time so I havent been online as much to respond but want you to know I appreciate it!

Beach Clouds - daily painting, beach scene, plein air
painting en plein air at the beach again (sorry if youre sick of it, cant help it, its endlessly fascinating to me ) On this day, there were 2 things that really stuck out. 1. the red tide and lack of waves and 2. the huge puffy white clouds. My boys found the 1 spot with no seaweed and I found a good spot to sit and paint. Ahh, summer.

Next Set - big
this is the 'bigger' Next Set. Ive done a few versions of this image in different sizes, trying things out. Just like its tough to turn a sketch from a sketchbook into a more complete drawing/painting, it is also hard to paint an image again and bigger. So I kept working this one until I was happy. Had to learn which of my 'big' brushes would be my 'go to' ones and had to learn to keep the freshness...
