Take me Away

contemporary beach painting, figurative art, midcentury modern side table
Beach Chair 30x40

"Calgon, take me away" is all I can think of when I look at this.  Saying that date's me doesn't it?  Youngsters just google it.

Normally I am "team snow" but today - 5 days out from spring - to have this cold air and crunchy frozen snow everywhere, I am done.

HERE is this paintings original post with a link to purchase.http://debbiemillerpainting.blogspot.com/2015/07/beach-chair-debbie-miller.html

The yellow tones in this just won't photograph today.
I'm going mad trying to adjust...and on top of that its snowing.
Yup, that's right - snow - on our first full day of spring. rats.

Anyway - these next few paintings are a bit different from the older paintings. Taking my large scale process and shrinking it down to the itty bitty size.
When you paint a lot - things happen.
You develop and grow and change.
That's why painting is so fun!

6x6" oil on gessoboard sold

A little one painted at the beach today with fellow blogger/artist Kelley Mac Donald. -which was fun-thanks for the white paint and good company Kelley!

Its hot, even with our AC on its hot. Too hot to think of a good title or anything interesting to say ;) All I can think of is "Gosh it's hot" said like the abominable snow rabbit, bugs bunny cartoon...

Beach Warmth

6x8" oil on masonite
I've got a 'thing' for painting these 'mom' suits, but this time I used a nice red ground and tried to stay loose. I had a dream the other night that we only went to the beach ONCE last year, how horrible! Since its dreary around here now, I wanted to capture that soaking in the sun feeling
