New Year

12x12 oil

Hello 2019, the year to get back into blogging.  (crickets??)

Truth is, I've missed it.  Not exactly sure how it will evolve this year but I'm excited to see.
New website is in the works too with what I hope is a store front to make it easier to purchase.  Fingers crossed because I'm figuring this all out myself.

Happy New Year!

Wooden Sign

The Miller house is a busy house.  Lots of young people in and out, my husband and I and our two dogs.
Everyone walks them.
I made this little sign last week to leave on the counter.  Sometimes we take one dog or both and it was getting a little nerve racking to come home and find one or both of them gone.
Cute right?  Super easy to make too - I just cut a piece of scrap wood with my chop saw and used eye hooks and picture wire for the handle.  Painted it white, distressed the edges and free handed the letters  - no stencils or measuring for me but you could if that is how you roll.

Good bye 2015 Hello 2016

I used some app that found my 9 most liked photos on instagram. (can't remember which one, just google it) I think they sum up the past year pretty well.
                                                                 Happy New Year!  xo

Meet my new pup!

nfdp
Back to blogging this week and to get things started I thought I would share the new edition to our family.
Meet our new Border Collie pup named Rhody!
Isn't he the best?  Shown here sitting next to our little dog Baxter and then with his sister Maggie who is owned by a good friend of mine - lots of puppy playdates, yay!!!
If you just can't get enough of this cuteness, follow me on instagram.  I'll be posting lots of puppy pictures there!!  follow me HERE

Studio Peek

A little studio peek.  The beach scenes are WIP.  The dogs are done.  I have been playing around with acrylics on these big panels and I'm LOVING it.  The quickness suits my painting style.  stay tuned for close-ups and more.

Fresh

 nfdp
Every year I like to pick a word - just one - that is my "power word".  Sort of a one word mantra.
2015's word is FRESH.
Fresh start, fresh art, fresh food, fresh air,  it's all good, etc.
My son says it all the time and it became the front runner when I started to think of words while making my goal list for the year.
( I may have to steal his hat.)
Notice I said "goal list" not resolutions.  Resolutions fail - goals and the STEPS it will take to attain them, now those are FRESH.  Last year I broke things down by quarter and wrote down my goals for each and exactly what I needed to do to make them happen.  This made a huge difference in my business.  I really do need a plan and get ready because this year I've got some pretty fresh goals.  Te-he.

First step - clearing off the studio bulletin board.  So what will your word be?

Here is a link to the sale: One King's Lane
I’m excited to share that my work is available on One Kings Lane. It’s an amazingly curated site for home decor items. It feels more clean and less crowded than similiar sites of the same ilk. Anyway, my work will be up for a short while (it’s so easy to sign up for the site, it took me like 2 minutes total fyi). It’s especially cool that they frame the pieces. It’s such a pain in the neck to do it yourself. - See more at: http://www.samanthahahn.com/blog/2012/06/27/one-kings-lane-print-sale/#sthash.lWHiylrb.dpuf
