Bring it 2016

Yup it is that time of year.  Time to clean off the cobwebs of last year and start anew.  Time for lists and goal setting.  This year I've got quite a few studio goals - paintings to create and blog posts to make.  I'm excited.

Like my new sign says ( from Frog and Toad in Providence) :
                                                             It is time to get shit done. 

 This notebook is my "blog book".  It is where I brainstorm ideas and thoughts for blog posts.  It is super important, don't touch it. 

Last year I cleared off my bulletin board and did it again this year.  It is good to have a clean slate...or in this case clean homasote. 

Fresh

Every year I like to pick a word - just one - that is my "power word".  Sort of a one word mantra.
2015's word is FRESH.
 Fresh start, fresh art, fresh food, fresh air,  it's all good, etc. 
 My son says it all the time and it became the front runner when I started to think of words while making my goal list for the year.
 ( I may have to steal his hat.)
Notice I said "goal list" not resolutions.  Resolutions fail - goals and the STEPS it will take to attain them, now those are FRESH.  Last year I broke things down by quarter and wrote down my goals for each and exactly what I needed to do to make them happen.  This made a huge difference in my business.  I really do need a plan and get ready because this year I've got some pretty fresh goals.  Te-he.

First step - clearing off the studio bulletin board.  So what will your word be?

What's Happening?  Good question!  Not a lot of little bird paintings, that's for sure.  That fizzled.
Oh well.  My list of New Year Goals was waaay to long anyhoo.  - What am I? Super Woman?

 I'm in a little painting/creating/ funk and all I hear in my head is Cher's voice from Moonstruck saying "Snap out of it"
