6x8" oil on masonite panel
I know painting little kids at the beach is a cliche BUT this is my life, its what I did and my kids and friends kids do now. Now that the end of summer is near I feel like painting these beach scenes, kinda like a tourist taking home shells or sand to try and capture a bit of the magic of a summer at the beach. My oldest son is 13 and well, his beach enthusiasm has changed a bit but when he was little, this was him, running back and forth with a truck.

I love these pictures because they are real scenes you'd see every day at the beach. Not contrived at all.
We just had my sweet little nephews, 3 and a half and 2yrs old for the weekend along with their parents, and we had wonderful beach time. My neighbors sitting near us commented on how Ryan and Colin reminded them of their own 2 now grown boys of 20 or so. Ryan has the family cowlick which I have as well and Colin is a little tow head. I just love them to pieces!
