8x10 oil on masonite
I painted this about a month ago after spending 13 hours at the SENECY swimmeet (H + T swam for a total of about 2 and a half min.!!) It was a long day, I got home grabbed my french easel and went down to the beach and did this in about 30 min before it got dark. I like it and felt so good after. Painting plein air - especially when it clicks - is good for the soul.

That's a beauty. You nailed it.
I always feel so pumped when I get a good painting and so, somehow, 'not right' when I'm not painting well.
Couldn't agree more. Debbie... you'll have to actually meet Mary Sheehan Winn (MSW for short) - she is a hoot and a heck of a painter to boot. Has RI ties, too, although she's a vagabond :) We'll have to get together to paint this summer. Plein air painting is amazing, and this is a particularly nice piece. You feel like you're there at the beach.
Thanks Mary and Kelley!
Debbie the lighting in this is wonderful. I love the colors but I especially love the details behind the painting.
Just started painting landscapes and find plein air to be very intimidating. Aaah some day.
This is a winner Debbie. You have a good eye for the landscape. This gives me a peaceful easy feeling.
Thanks Robin!
