speaking of scenes from MY life... I finished this, took it out to photograph, a gust of wind came and blew it face down in the dirt! dang. I Love this little painting...and the subject matter. (he'll be disapoinTED when he comes home and sees dirt all over his painting!!!)

Ouch!
One time that happened to a friend of mine on the beach. The paint was thickly applied and the entire thing was like a coat of sugar.
When it dried, there, of course, being no way to get all of the sand off, it glistened like a crystal coating. It kind of improved the painting we all thought!
Your paintings are wonderful little slices of life!

thanks Mary. i actually tried picking some of the dirt off with tweezers!!! the rest looks like part of the scene :) luckily I got the pic before it fell. this is actually a study,I picture it on a nice big square canvas as part of a series in our family room or boys rooms...

This is so cool - love the cropping, the subject - and the story! Just let it dry and most of the dirt will come off... it will look 'textured' - tell everyone you intended this finish!
